Something we want to do cannot build our reputation because it hasn't happened yet.

Only what we do builds our reputation.

Good reputation or bad one are depending on the nature of what we do.

Do good and noble things will build a good and noble reputation. Do bad and non-honorable things will build a bad reputation. It goes parallel with what we do.
