A GHOST IN THE FAMOUS PICASSO PAINTING
Pablo Picasso's famous painting of a bathing woman in a blue room carries a secret: High-tech scans have revealed that the well-known scene was painted on top of a portrait of an unidentified man.
Conservators here at the Phillips Collection used infrared imaging to virtually peel back the paint of the artist's famous 1901 painting "The Blue Room"; underneath, they discovered a portrait of a man in a bow tie, resting his head on his arm. Live Science visited the collection for a behind-the-scenes look at how the discovery was made.

CREATIVITY DIES IN EXPENSIVE CITIES
New York City, a traditional incubator for artists, has now become a 'gated citadel' for creativity.
On May 5, musician Patti Smith was asked what advice she had for young people trying to make it in New York City. The long-time New Yorker's take? Get out. "New York has closed itself off to the young and the struggling," she said. "New York City has been taken away from you."
Smith was not the only New Yorker to reject the city that had nurtured artists for decades. In October, musician David Byrne

CORY MONTEITH FROM GLEE DIES IN PACIFIC RIM HOTEL
The 31-year-old, who played Finn Hudson in the Fox TV hit, was found dead at the Pacific Rim Hotel in the city centre on Saturday, said police.
The cause of death was not immediately apparent, but police have ruled out foul play.
Monteith, who had been in the musical comedy since its 2009 start, was treated for drug addiction in April, and had a history of substance-abuse.

THE BEATLES SONG CHARTS (3 infographics)
We here at Spinner enjoy doing some deep research on projects, but going through every Beatles song and figuring out which member played what instrument? That just seems nuts.
Luckily, the people ate Pop Chart Lab have the right amount of drive, patience and insanity, as they did just that, mapping out the "helter skelter details" in a box set of infographics. The Beatles Song Charts comes in three prints and can be purchased here from Pop Chart Lab Click on the images here to see the high-resolution versions, and say "Hello, Goodbye" to the rest of your day's productivity.

Google recently released a second video promoting their Google Glasses, scheduled to hit the mass market in early 2014. (Here’s their first marketing demo.)
With any new technology that we adopt it’s wise to ask ourselves not only what we gain but what we lose, both as individuals and as a society. For the Google Glasses, the full answers to these questions will remain elusive until the (fun!)

VISUAL CULTURE IS HERE
The Rise of Pinterest and of Image-Based Tweets Shows New Movement
There was a time when media planners' role was limited to determining where marketers should advertise. The world has so moved on.
Today media agencies and media departments are wonderfully placed to deliver a richer understanding of consumer viewpoints, shopper intentions and cultural trends.
