"Finding something unique to wear is difficult. It can be expensive or take a lot of time," says Swedish fashion blogger Kenza Zouiten, in a film on the H&M-backed Ivyrevel fashion website.
But now the "I have nothing to wear" dilemma could be solved by a new app, which aims to create a customized dress design based on smartphone data showing someone's location and activity, as well as the weather.
The "data dress" technology is a collaboration between Google and Ivyrevel, and is based on Android's Awareness API, which lets apps "be aware of all aspects of a user's environment," according to a post on the Android Developers' blog.

A GHOST IN THE FAMOUS PICASSO PAINTING
Pablo Picasso's famous painting of a bathing woman in a blue room carries a secret: High-tech scans have revealed that the well-known scene was painted on top of a portrait of an unidentified man.
Conservators here at the Phillips Collection used infrared imaging to virtually peel back the paint of the artist's famous 1901 painting "The Blue Room"; underneath, they discovered a portrait of a man in a bow tie, resting his head on his arm. Live Science visited the collection for a behind-the-scenes look at how the discovery was made.

THE STORY BEHIND SEXY CHINESE PEACH BUTTS
Because Nothing Says 'I Love You' Like Fruit Wearing Lingerie
Saturday is Chinese Valentine's Day (August 2, 2104). But why buy your loved one flowers when you can give her peaches wearing panties? Just yesterday, the scantily-clad fruits went viral -- not just in China, but globally. The juicy bottoms were tweeted by a Chinese state news outlet, the People's Daily, and also got coverage in mainstream U.S. outlets such as New York magazine and Kotaku.

IT HAS BEEN FOUND: IRAQ'S LONG-LOST MYTHICAL TEMPLE
For centuries, scientists have been searching for an ancient temple dedicated to a winged warrior. Now, one archaeologist thinks he may have found it. Only problem: It’s in the middle of a war zone.
In an ancient stone carving, warriors brandishing shields and swords swarm over the columned facade of a grand temple. On one side, a palace stands with three women perched on top; on the other, above private homes, a ruler on a throne dictates to royal scribes. In the foreground, the peaks of northern Iraq soar.

WHAT IS CHICK-A-FILL-A FORCING ON PEOPLE NOW?
As we can all recall, Chick-Fil-A was the center of controversy as they were accused of “forcing their religious views” on others when president Dan Cathy made his political leanings known regarding gay marriage. You’ll never guess what the once demonized business is now forcing on others now – FOOD. Yep, that’s right, food.
According to Fox News, a local Chick-Fil-A came to the rescue as a rare snowstorm in the South left citizens stranded on icy interstates and highways, including Highway 280 in Birmingham, Alabama. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of the restaurant employees and owner, Mark Meadows, a good number of stranded motorists were able to find food and shelter from the storm.

MIKHAIL KALASHNIKOV, THE INVENTOR OF AK-47, DIES AT 94
Mikhail Kalashnikov, whose work as a weapons designer for the Soviet Union is immortalized in the name of the world's most popular firearm, died Monday at the age of 94.
Kalashnikov once aspired to design farm equipment. But even though his most famous invention - the AK-47 assault rifle - sowed havoc instead of crops, he often said he felt personally untroubled by his contribution to bloodshed.

10 POP-CULTURE ROBOTS THAT SHAPED OUR FUTURE
Say "laptop" or "tablet" or "app" to a technophile and you may get them interested. Say "robot," and you've got them excited.
For centuries, we've been intrigued by the concept of creating mechanized beings that are as much like us as possible. And as our technological know-how marches ever forward, we're closer than ever to doing it.
From robots you can buy right now to the ones invading the work force to tech giant Google's move into military robotics, our automated friends are no longer just the stuff of science-fiction double features.
But like many scientific advances, fantasy was a prime motivator.

SATANIC TEMPLE MONUMENT IN OKLAHOMA
A monument to the Ten Commandments that sits outside the Oklahoma statehouse may soon have some unholy company.
Satan worshipers are seeking to build their own monument at the state Capitol, and Lucien Greaves, a spokesman for the Satanic Temple, said he’s “optimistic” it will be approved.
“I really don’t see a grounds which they can reject this,” he told ABC News.

South Africa's first black president and anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela has died, South Africa's president says.
Mr Mandela, 95, led South Africa's transition from white-minority rule in the 1990s, after 27 years in prison.
He had been receiving intense home-based medical care for a lung infection after three months in hospital.
In a statement on South African national TV, Jacob Zuma said Mr Mandela had "departed" and was at peace.
"Our nation has lost its greatest son," Mr Zuma said.
He said Mr Mandela would receive a full state funeral, and flags would be flown at half-mast.

STRUCK BY LIGHTNING TWICE AND .... SURVIVE
The odds of being struck by lightning in a lifetime are about 1 in 6,250, according to the National Weather Service. By being struck twice, 31-year-old Casey Wagner beat far greater odds.
The man, who was at an off-road competition in North Texas over the weekend, was standing under a tree when he was hit by lightning twice in close succession, he told KTVT-TV.
“What I remember is just a loud boom and it dropped me to my knees and then it hit me again,” Wagner told the station. “When I got hit, it was just two big ol’ flashes and then sparks went everywhere.”

JUST LIKE EARTH: PLANET KEPLER-78B
An Earth-sized planet far beyond our Solar System has been found to have a similar mass to our planet, say researchers engaged in the hunt for other habitable worlds.
While Kepler-78b is not a hospitable place, with surface temperatures exceeding 2000 degrees, confirmation of its mass and density was hailed as a good omen for the discovery of other Earth-like planets.
