WHAT WE'RE GONNA TALK

Just like in a cafe, we talk about everything. Nothing heavy. Just talk over a cup of coffee.

RETURN ALWAYS

"Return always to what is essential and worthy." (Unknown)

We all know what is essential and worthy. Like our family, our job, our faith to our God, many more things. And like doing things that make others live better and keeping our world around us intact.

But something happens along the way which make us leave those things. It happens because a lot of reasons, in which, to different person is different reason.

And what we should do is to return to what is essential and worthy. Return, because we've been there before. We know it.

Return to it is a good thing. It is like coming back home where essential and worthy live.

Always return. Because we experience the sidetrack not only once, but many times.

Always return is like re-calibrating our focus the what is essential and worthy.

ANTIOXIDANTS IN COFFEE, TEA MAY NOT HELP PREVENT DEMENTIA AND STROKE

Antioxidants in coffee, tea may not help prevent dementia, strokeDrinking coffee and tea rich in antioxidants may not lower your risk of dementia or having a stroke, according to a new study published Wednesday in the online journal Neurology.

The study may call into question other research suggesting a diet high in antioxidants helps reduce the risk of dementia and stroke.

REFLECTING ON THE GOOD TIMES

I had arrived at the airport about 30 minutes before the required check in to catch an early flight home. It had been a very busy three days for me on an interstate trip with lots of meetings, business to do and new customers to meet. So I was glad to have the extra time to make my notes on what I needed to action when I got back to my office the following day.

ROBIN IS DEAD

It’s official: Robin is dead.

This Robin is, anyway. He’s Damian Wayne, the elementary-school-aged son of Batman and his recently minted arch-enemy/ex-girlfriend, Talia al-Ghul. He’d only ever been seen as an infant in a forgotten graphic novel Batman: Son of the Demon by Mike W. Barr and Jerry Bingham, before writer Grant Morrison and artist Andy Kubert brought him kicking and screaming into continuity when they launched the writer’s long-standing tenure on the Batman titles.

LEAP MOTION: GESTURE -CONTROL GADGET FOR YOUR COMPUTER (video)

Leap ReleaseTurns out that 2013 is, indeed, a Leap Year.

Leap Motion, the company that makes the hotly anticipated gesture-control device of the same name, announced Wednesday morning that the first Leap Motion units would ship to pre-orderers around the world on May 13, and that everyone could get their hands (and fingers) on one on May 19.

POPE BENEDICT XVI RESIGNS, THE INTRIGUE INSIDE VATICAN

Pope Benedict XVI will become the first pontiff in 600 years to abdicate when he’s airlifted out of the Vatican today, as cardinals set to elect his successor assess the impact of a secret dossier on church intrigue.

The pope, 85, will cease being leader of the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics at 8 p.m. Rome time after being flown by helicopter to the papal summer residence south of the Italian capital in Castel Gandolfo. Swiss guards who’ve protected him since his election in 2004 will abandon their station at the doors of the 17th-century villa, leaving the task to Vatican gendarmes.

THE THING THEY DON'T LIKE DOING

"The successful person makes a habit of doing what the failing person doesn't like to do." (A Share a Day)

What the failing person doesn't like to do is something difficult. Something challenging or something that requires efforts from him or her.

Failing person likes doing something easy. Something that won't make him or her break the comfort zone.

On the contrary, the successful person likes doing something that makes him or her put a lot of efforts. Hard things.

And doing hard things makes them a better person.

The better he or she becomes, the success he or she will be.

That is why we should not be afraid doing something hard, difficult, and challenging.

INSTAGRAM REACHES 100 MILLION USERS

Debunking once and for all the theory that Instagram has been hemorrhaging members since it controversially updated its terms of service in January, the photo-sharing app announced that it hit 100 million active users on Tuesday.

The 2-and-a-half-year-old company, bought by Facebook for a then eye-popping $1 billion in April 2012, announced the milestone in a blog post.

10 SIMPLE WAYS TO PREVENT SALMONELLA AND OTHER BACTERIA

FACEBOOK, EMOTIONS AND PARENTHOOD

Not too long ago, Facebook started asking me how I was feeling. I thought it was a little awkward, as Facebook can’t really do anything about my feelings.

My Facebook friends, however, can do something, and I guess that's the idea. But, truly, why would I share my feelings on Facebook?

EVERYTHING WE NEED IS ALL INSIDE

Grass grows
No one tells it
How to grow to.

River gently winds
Downstream.
No one tells it
How to flow to.

Seeds fall from the tree.
Embedded into the earth.
Flourishes into new life
Again and again.
No one reminds that it's
Time to plant.

The ocean waves
Ebbs to and fro
In natural rhythm
With the moon.
A curious and peaceful dance.
No directions included.

CONQUERING ME

Sometimes winning doesn’t necessarily mean coming in first. My story is about overcoming self-doubt. We all have defining moments in our life, moments that make us who we are. It’s what we do in these moments that define our character.

My body froze, as if I had just jumped into a tub of ice.

THE STRETCHABLE BATTERY

Our cyborg future may not be far off.

An ultra-stretchy battery could one day be used to power bionic eyeballs, brain-wave monitoring devices and robotic skins, new research suggests.

The new device, which embeds tiny lithium-based batteries in a silicone sheet, can stretch up to three times its initial length and could be recharged wirelessly, Yonggang Huang, study co-author and a mechanical engineer at Northwestern University, wrote to LiveScience in an email.

The new battery is described today (Feb. 26) in the journal Nature Communications.

REVISIT THE PAST TRIUMPH

"Boost your confidence by revisiting a previous triumph!" (Les Hewitt)

Just visit again the previous triumph in order to boost our confidence, but don't stay there.

Staying in our previous triumph will destroy us. It will make us stagnant. And it will make us stop to grow. The worst of all, it makes us live in the past glory.

Visit and leave.

Leave to a new battlefield with a new confidence. Keep our eyes to the future, not in the past. The previous triumph is just a fuel to burn us to move forward.

Move forward to gain a new triumph.

Blonde on Horseback

A blonde from California decides to try horseback riding, even though she has had no lessons or prior experience. She mounts the horse unassisted and the horse immediately springs into motion. It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but the blonde begins to slip from the saddle. In terror, she grabs for the horse's mane, but cannot seem to get a firm grip. She tries to throw her arms around the horse's neck, butshe slides down the side of the horse anyway. The horse gallops along, seemingly oblivious to its slipping rider. Finally,

WHY CHAMELEONS CHANGE COLOR?

I always thought I knew why chameleons changed color. How wrong I was.

Chameleons are famous for changing color but have you ever really considered why they do it?  Most of us would say…to blend in.  But, in some cases, it’s just the opposite.

For years, I thought chameleons change color to “fit in” — for camouflage.  But, of course, in their normal color state, they already blend in.  So, it turns out they change color to be different.

THE QUESTIONS FOR MOZILLA'S FIREFOX OS

ffos022413aMozilla outlined its Firefox OS mobile platform, served up some notable screens and highlighted a bevy of global carrier partners in emerging and developed markets. Although the initiative is notable, Mozilla's efforts---much like Ubuntu's plans----are shadowed by a bevy of questions.

Indeed, 18 operators, an open ecosystem and a key features is a good start. But it's a bit uncertain how seriously we should take Mozilla, which doesn't exactly have a history mobile dominance. A big splash at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona doesn't guarantee success.

The biggest questions about Mozilla's Firefox OS revolve around credibility, timing and whether there's room for yet another mobile platform. With that backdrop, here are the four big mobile questions Mozilla will have to answer over time.

THE DECLINE AND FALL OF PRODUCT PLACEMENT

For more than a century, the motion picture has reigned supreme as the world's ultimate storytelling tool. The sheer size of the "big screen," Hollywood's confidence that their product can hold audience attention for upwards of three hours, and budgets that run into the hundreds of millions, all proclaim the dominance of their art form. And the artists who tell stories? Filmmakers are gods, TV producers are wannabes, and ad execs are scum (a recent Ad Age survey put the advertising profession below politicians on the respectability scale).

THE LOST CONTINENT IN INDIAN OCEAN?

The Seychelles, above, may sit atop an ancient "microcontinent" that was once wedged between India and Madagascar.William Blake saw the universe in a grain of sand. A team of geologists saw a continent.

In a paper published online Monday in Nature Geoscience, an international research team reports that it has found evidence of a lost "microcontinent" in the Indian Ocean, northeast of Madagascar. The scientists analyzed sands they found on the beaches of the island nation of Mauritius and found traces of an ancient mineral called zircon. That's noteworthy because Mauritius is a relatively young, volcanic island, while zircon is typically found in much older, continental crust.

REVEALING THE TRUTH

"Being honest may not get you a lot of friends but it'll always get you the right ones." (@WomenOfHistory)

Not all people like to be shown the truth about their life. Many of us live in deception and know about it. But the lie they live in make them feel comfortable. They feel okay with "the condition"

That is why when someone is honest enough to show the lie they live in and show the truth. They will reject not only the message but the messenger also.

It is because for them is better to live in a deception as long as they feel comfortable. And the truth will make their life upside down.

But there is certain of people who value honest opinion about their life. Face the truth and change the way they live. And this kind of people is the right ones for the person who always tell something honestly.

Are we the kind of person who tell honest thing to our friends or the ones who live in deception?

THE POWER TO CHANGE THE WORLD

What makes us human is our capacity to love. Love is that quality that erases prejudice and moves us to forgive, gives us peace of mind in a turbulent world, and keeps us sane.

Love sees broken souls and heals them. Love hears plaintive cries and answers. Love discerns a need and fulfills it. Love does not see color, race or features; love sees people.

Yes, we are imperfect. Our love is imperfect but the power of love overshadows its imperfections. The power of love knows no boundaries, no walls. It holds no record of misgivings but believes in second chances.

RESPECTING OUR DIFFERENCES

"You can't please everybody."

Every one of us is born unique in our ways, outlook, attitudes, likes, dislikes, opinions, and perspective. Come to think of it, even if we have a lot of things that are different from each other, we still are set by boundaries, norms and principles for socially acceptable behavior so that we can co-exist peacefully.

A CONFIDENCE IN OUR ABILITY

"You have to have confidence in your ability, and then be tough enough to follow through." (Rosalynn Carter)

Without having a confidence in our ability, we won't be able to perform well in everything we do.

It is the first principle we have to set in our mind. To have confidence in our ability.

The second principle is tough enough to follow through. Being persistent in what we do. Don't give up easily.

Being though is because we have confidence in our ability that in the end, we will finish the job, the task well.

THE HIDDEN TEACHERS

"Everything we see has the potential to teach us something." (Unknown)

The world around us has the potential to teach us something. It is like hidden teachers. They scattered everywhere and wait to teach us something.

What we need is a little observation. There is a big difference between see and observe.

To observe is more than just seeing. We put our attention and try to understand what we see. Focus our inner to get the wisdom out of it.

In this modern world, we see so many things, too much to be exact, but we learn nothing. We should stop for sometimes and observe the world and life around us. And learn something.

THE FEAR OF UNKNOWN

"The major ingredient of any recipe for fear is the unknown." (Michael Jackson)

The unknown always makes us feel afraid. It is unknown because we don't have any collection of knowledge or experience in the back of our mind. And it makes the fear grips our mind.

This fear sometimes paralyzes us and makes us frozen. And we can't do anything.

We have to fight this feeling of fear because it is not real. It is only in our mind. The unknown doesn't have to be dangerous or scary. It is the blackness of the unknown that cripples our mind.

We have to change the way we see the unknown. We have to see it with eagerness to explore and experience new things. By thinking this way, we're gonna beat the feeling of fear toward the unknown.

JOKE ABOUT HUSBAND AND WIFE

A man was granted two wishes by God. He asked for the best drink and the best woman ever. He got mineral water and Mother Teresa.

There are three kinds of men in this world. Some remain single and make wonders happen. Some have girlfriends and see wonders happen. The rest get married and wonder what happened!

Wives are magicians. They can turn anything into an argument.

When asked in class; Why do women live a better, longer and a more peaceful life than men? A very INTELLIGENT student replied: "Because women don't have wives!"

THE POWER OVER OUR WILL

"Your will always within your power." (Unknown)

We have full power over our will.

We are the only one who has that privilege. No one has the power over our will unless we give them our permission.

Whether it is the will to fight of the will to surrender. The will to go on or the will to give up. The will to do good things or the will to do bad things. All is within our power.

We can't blame others for what happens to us, because it is the result of our own will. The will that we choose.

Always exercise our power to choose the right will. The will that will bring good to us and others.

It refused to set a price, or even show the console itself but it is unlikely to cost much less than £300.

WHEN STRESS LEADS TO MALE BONDING AND COMPASSION

Ever feel that stress makes you more cranky, hot-headed or irritable? For men in particular, we think of stress as generating testosterone-fueled aggression – thus instances of road rage, or the need to “blow off steam” after work with a trip to the gym or a bar. On the other hand, in circumstances of extreme trauma such as the Sandy Hook incident or during natural disasters like Hurricane Sandy, we hear moving accounts of people going out of their way to help others. A HELLO THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

It's 8:00 AM. I take the same route to work each day, seeing the same places and familiar faces. I walk by the bus terminal and see the busload of business people coming from the northern suburbs, hustling onto the escalators and dispersing throughout downtown to the many buildings and offices.

I walk by the muffin shop, where there's always a line for muffins and coffee. I see people dropping-off their laundry at the dry cleaners, and the line at the Starbucks for a morning boost.

THE POWER OF BUSINESS COLLABORATION

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." Anne Frank

Collaboration is the key to business success. Just ask any winner from reality shows such as Survivor and The Apprentice. These players consistently display the power of collaboration by building alliances early on in the game. In most cases, it ensures their victory. Alliances or collaboration is the difference between winning or losing the game. It is not much different in the world of business.

NOW IT'S JUST "THE OSCARS"

The upcoming Academy Awards show is the 85th, a significant anniversary that in past years might have brought a reunion of past winners, special film clips or some sort of recognition on the Oscar show.

But this year, the number 85 has been quietly retired, and so has the phrase "Academy Awards."

Both disappeared from official AMPAS materials about three weeks ago. "We're rebranding it," Oscar show co-producer Neil Meron told TheWrap on Monday. "We're not calling it 'the 85th annual Academy Awards,' which keeps it mired somewhat in a musty way. It's called 'The Oscars.'"

During TheWrap's interview with Meron and his partner Craig Zadan, Meron said they were under the impression that the new approach would continue in the future.

ONE EXTRA MILE

"Always render more and better service than is expected of you, no matter what your task may be." (Og Mandino)

Walk two miles if we are ask to walk one mile.

One extra mile that makes the quality of our works stand out.

The world only walked one mile when they were asked for one mile. And many times they walked less than one mile and claimed it for one mile.

We will differ ourselves from the rest of the world because we do more than what we are demanded.

To give more than what is expected from us, regardless of what the task we get.

APPLE CONFIRMS CYBER ATTACK

The words “Apple” and “security breach” don’t often appear together, but on Tuesday the company said that some computers belonging to its employees had been targeted by hackers originating from China—the same group, reportedly, that last week infiltrated computers belonging to Facebook employees. The story was first reported by Reuters.

In an email, Apple provided Macworld with a statement on the breach, saying:

SKILLS AND GOALS

We're told that we succeed when we "believe in ourselves." But in our "self-esteem" culture we rarely hear the truth: research shows that people normally overestimate their abilities.

We also sometimes hear that high-achievers need anxiety and fears to keep pushing themselves. "It's been a two-edged sword," says Carol, a workaholic. "I like the rewards success has brought me, and I know I worked so hard because I worried I was stupid."

LEARNING FROM LINCOLN

There were doubtless many heroic moments in the life of Abraham Lincoln and many chapters of his life from which we could learn, but Spielberg chose to pick a particular cross roads of his Presidency and honed in on it in great detail. It was a time when Lincoln’s star was rising and, as his wife beseeched him, if he allowed himself to rest on his successes at that point, the rest of his life would have been so much easier, and perhaps longer too. But popularity is not what drove Lincoln. Against the advice of his wife and virtually the entirety of his cabinet – not to mention most of his party –

EXCELLENCE: THE ATTITUDE

"Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude." (Ralph Marston)

Skill makes us able to do something well.

But excellence is an attitude.

An attitude to do something beyond just "well and good"

It is a drive that push us to the edge. Where satisfaction is not the end border.

It is an attitude that differ us from mediocre.

And in the end, it is the only thing that will bring us to the winner list.

ONE SUPER-COMMON FOOD THAT'S RUINING YOUR SKIN, JOINTS & BLOOD SUGAR

There’s no agenda here. The worst part? This food is probably in just about every one of your meals. Curious to know what we’re talking about? Wheat.

What makes Michael Jordan so successful? A passion succeed and the commitment necessary to run the race
Late one night, I was in the studio painting Michael Jordan's portrait when my agent Jack Krasula phoned me, to ask me what I was working on. When I replied I was studying sweat, the phone went silent. After a brief pause he politely hung up. "Leave it to an artist," I could hear him say, as he set down the receiver.

But it was true. At that moment, for some unexplained reason, the study of perspiration on Michael Jordan's forehead intrigued me. I noticed the multiple colors that made up each individual droplet. But, what I found most fascinating was the variety of different colors, and the sizes, assortment and spectrum I found within each droplet.

SOCIAL MEDIA AS MODERN SORCERY

Those who feel wronged by corporations have increasingly taken to social media to get their revenge.

For business, this represents a threat — and an opportunity — that obviously can't be ignored. A 2012 Nielsen survey found that people value advice from online peers on both what to buy as well as what to avoid. Almost two in tree of those who review products online say they do so to protect others; an additional one in four use social media to punish corporations for their own bad experiences.

SOMETHING WE USE

"It's not what you've got, its what you use that makes a difference." (Zig Ziglar)

What we've got. What we have is our possession. And we keep it as our belonging.

It doesn't change anything to the world. It doesn't make any difference.

It is what we use that makes the difference. Something from our possession. It will make differences for others and the world around.

We share from what we have will make difference for ourselves and others.

FROM IDEA TO REALITY

"The ability to convert ideas to things is the secret to outward success." (Henry Ward Beecher)

Not everyone can turn their idea into something real.

To have an idea, great one, is one thing. To implement it until it becomes reality is another thing.

It takes more than just good thinking to turn idea into reality. It requires hard works, persistent and some knowledge about certain thing related to the idea. If we have a great idea and don't have the knowledge about it to make it real. It is better for us to find someone who has. And work together. Like Steve Jobs with his great ideas and Steve Wozniak with his knowledge about computer.

It doesn't have to be we are the one who do it alone.

Collaboration is also the key.

Another important thing is to find the right person to work together.

LIVE OUR WORDS

"The older I get the less I listen to what people say and the more I look at what they do." (Andrew Carnegie)

There is a big difference between what people say and do.

May be we are familiar with this phrase, "It is easy for you to say."

To say is an easy thing. No big effort is needed just to say it. But doing is a different thing. It requires effort and sometimes courage.

That is why many people just say what they want and never do what they say.

Live your words is becoming rare and rare.

But it is the only thing if we want to be a man of character.

If we can't live our own words, we'd better not say it.

Say and live it.

Live our own words.

I'VE BEEN SHOT IN THE HEAD

THERE WAS a sweet older lady who would often do grocery shopping for the infirm and elderly in her church. One hot, summer day a lady asked her to pick up a few things and bring them by her house in a dangerous part of Baltimore City. The sweet old lady was wary but felt that she couldn't say no, even though she was terrified of driving in the part of the city that often had shoot-outs and other drug violence. Anyway, the woman went on her way, picked up the groceries and proceeded to the lady's house.

HOW THE KIDS AT BOX ARE DISRUPTING SOFTWARE'S MOST LUCRATIVE GAME

Aaron Levine

Twenty months ago Aaron Levie, all of 26 years old, did something arguably foolish, undeniably gutsy and entirely counter to the prevailing mood that startups should be “lean” in the Internet age. Forty-five minutes into a routine meeting with his board at Box, Levie blithely announced: “I want to make a small adjustment. We need to raise an extra $50 million.” An awkward pause followed. Box had previously raised $106 million, already a heady sum for a company with just $25 million in sales and no profits. Levie’s early investor and biggest booster, Josh Stein of venture firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson, piped up: “I’m sorry, but you said $15 million, right?”

CREATIVE LIVING, AGELESS LIVING

"Aging is a disease," my friend said as we sat at the pool recently. I was preparing my lesson for a health psychology course that I was to teach online in the fall. We were discussing health and aging.  "No, it is reality," he replied. "At about 26 years of age our cells stop growing and producing and start to decline".

I had recently been inspired and re-inspired while reading current research on mind body psychology and had  taught a college course called mind body psychology for the second time. The new research about aging and health is exciting and encouraging. There are ways to facilitate more creativity, health and build a better brain.

EYE IMPLANT CAN RESTORE SOMEVISION IN RARE CASES

Patients who have lost their sight due to a rare disorder may be able to regain some vision using a new implantable device that takes the place of damaged cells inside the eye.

ENCOURAGING HIGH ACHIEVEMENT

It was the end of the school term and my son Tom had less than three months left before he would finish his six years at high school. During this time he had developed a passion for basketball and may I say as a proud and somewhat biased father, he is energetic, skilful and plays a key role in the three different teams that he plays for each week.

Sadly, due to my work commitments over the last twelve months, I had only been able to attend a few of his games, however, I was determined to get to his last game for the school term which co-incidentally would see him play in two back to back finals; one for his school and the other with a team he and his mates had formed, so that as he put it, 'he could get some extra game time and improve his basketball skills.'

PATIENCE: A GREAT VIRTUE

In an Indian temple, when the priest had gone for lunch, the Idol of the Lord and the Stepping Stone were conversing.

Stepping Stone: “What a good fate you have. We both were the same lump of rock for millions of years. The sculptor carved an idol out of you and every one is worshipping you. And look at me, I am a stepping stone and every one stands on me and stamps on. What kind of life is this?“

SMART TRUST

"You may be deceived if you trust too much, but you will live in torment if you don't trust enough." (Frank Crane)

Trust too much will make us deceived.

Trust no one will make us paranoid.

We have to be smart in trusting people.

Know when to trust and when not to. And we need to know the difference. It lies in our judgment value.

The first key to have a good judgment value is to learn to trust first. By doing it, we will know the nature of trust. The risk and the openness.

NEW POPE? I'VE GIVEN UP HOPE

THERE is a poignant air, almost wistful, to electing a pope in the modern world. In a time of discredited monarchies, can this monarchy survive and be relevant? There is nostalgia for the assurances of the past, quaint in their charm, but trepidation over their survivability. In monarchies, change is supposed to come from the top, if it is to come at all. So people who want to alter things in Catholic life are told to wait for a new pope. Only he has the authority to make the changeless church change, but it is his authority that stands in the way of change.

This is twice the recommended safe limit of caffeine and more than 11 times the recommended sugar intake.
