Drinking coffee and tea rich in antioxidants may not lower your risk of dementia or having a stroke, according to a new study published Wednesday in the online journal Neurology.

The study may call into question other research suggesting a diet high in antioxidants helps reduce the risk of dementia and stroke.

I had arrived at the airport about 30 minutes before the required check in to catch an early flight home. It had been a very busy three days for me on an interstate trip with lots of meetings, business to do and new customers to meet. An ultra-stretchy battery could one day be used to power bionic eyeballs, brain-wave monitoring devices and robotic skins, new research suggests.

The new device, which embeds tiny lithium-based batteries in a silicone sheet, can stretch up to three times its initial length and could be recharged wirelessly, Yonggang Huang, study co-author and a mechanical engineer at Northwestern University, wrote to LiveScience in an email.

Chameleons are famous for changing color but have you ever really considered why they do it?  Most of us would say…to blend in.  But, in some cases, it’s just the opposite.

For years, I thought chameleons change color to “fit in” — for camouflage.  But, of course, in their normal color state, they already blend in.  So, it turns out they change color to be different.

In a paper published online Monday in Nature Geoscience, an international research team reports that it has found evidence of a lost "microcontinent" in the Indian Ocean, northeast of Madagascar. The scientists analyzed sands they found on the beaches of the island nation of Mauritius and found traces of an ancient mineral called zircon. That's noteworthy because Mauritius is a relatively young, volcanic island, while zircon is typically found in much older, continental crust.

Sony launched the latest salvo in its ongoing rivalry with Microsoft with the launch of the PlayStation 4, the first of a new generation of consoles. Collaboration is the key to business success. Just ask any winner from reality shows such as Survivor and The Apprentice. These players consistently display the power of collaboration by building alliances early on in the game. In most cases, it ensures their victory. The upcoming Academy Awards show is the 85th, a significant anniversary that in past years might have brought a reunion of past winners, special film clips or some sort of recognition on the Oscar show.

But this year, the number 85 has been quietly retired, and so has the phrase "Academy Awards."

Both disappeared from official AMPAS materials about three weeks ago. "We're rebranding it," Oscar show co-producer Neil Meron told TheWrap on Monday. "We're not calling it 'the 85th annual Academy Awards,' which keeps it mired somewhat in a musty way. It's called 'The Oscars.'"

During TheWrap's interview with Meron and his partner Craig Zadan, Meron said they were under the impression that the new approach would continue in the future.

The words “Apple” and “security breach” don’t often appear together, but on Tuesday the company said that some computers belonging to its employees had been targeted by hackers originating from China—the same group, reportedly, that last week infiltrated computers belonging to Facebook employees. The story was first reported by Reuters.

In an email, Apple provided Macworld with a statement on the breach, saying:

Late one night, I was in the studio painting Michael Jordan's portrait when my agent Jack Krasula phoned me, to ask me what I was working on. When I replied I was studying sweat, the phone went silent. After a brief pause he politely hung up. "Leave it to an artist," I could hear him say, as he set down the receiver.

THERE WAS a sweet older lady who would often do grocery shopping for the infirm and elderly in her church. One hot, summer day a lady asked her to pick up a few things and bring them by her house in a dangerous part of Baltimore City. The sweet old lady was wary but felt that she couldn't say no, even though she was terrified of driving in the part of the city that often had shoot-outs and other drug violence. Anyway, the woman went on her way, picked up the groceries and proceeded to the lady's house.

Twenty months ago Aaron Levie, all of 26 years old, did something arguably foolish, undeniably gutsy and entirely counter to the prevailing mood that startups should be “lean” in the Internet age. Forty-five minutes into a routine meeting with his board at Box, Levie blithely announced: “I want to make a small adjustment. We need to raise an extra $50 million.” An awkward pause followed. "Aging is a disease," my friend said as we sat at the pool recently. I was preparing my lesson for a health psychology course that I was to teach online in the fall. We were discussing health and aging.  "No, it is reality," he replied. "At about 26 years of age our cells stop growing and producing and start to decline".

I had recently been inspired and re-inspired while reading current research on mind body psychology and had  taught a college course called mind body psychology for the second time. The new research about aging and health is exciting and encouraging. There are ways to facilitate more creativity, health and build a better brain.

The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday approved the Argus II Retinal Prosthesis System as the first treatment for an inherited disorder that causes the breakdown of cells in the retina, a membrane inside the eye.

It was the end of the school term and my son Tom had less than three months left before he would finish his six years at high school. During this time he had developed a passion for basketball and may I say as a proud and somewhat biased father, he is energetic, skilful and plays a key role in the three different teams that he plays for each week.

Only he has the authority to make the changeless church change, but it is his authority that stands in the way of change.

Drinking large quantities of Coca-Cola was a "substantial factor" in the death of a 30-year-old woman in New Zealand, a coroner has said.

Natasha Harris, who died three years ago after a cardiac arrest, drank up to 10 litres of the fizzy drink each day.

Gradiente launched its Android-powered iphone in Brazil in December

Brazilian regulators have ruled that Apple does not have exclusive rights to use the "iPhone" trademark in the country.

But the US tech giant has already lodged an appeal against the decision with the Brazilian regulators.

The ruling is the result of a local company, Gradiente Eletronica, registering the name in 2000, seven years before the US firm.

Apple can continue to sell iPhone-branded handsets in Brazil.
